About the project

Background tells the story of the late Jani Baba and holds a special place in my journey as a filmmaker. It became the first documentary through which I received an award.

The film earned third place in the “It Happens Only in Pakistan” documentary competition. Beyond that recognition, it remains meaningful as an early opportunity to share a person’s story through film and see it connect with an audience.
