Working with UNICEF Pakistan and White Rice, we spent four days in remote communities around Sukkur, documenting a decade of efforts on menstrual health and hygiene. The subject required sensitivity in communities where menstruation remains difficult to discuss openly.
We used an abstract documentary and docudrama approach to tell the story while respecting the comfort, privacy, and dignity of participating families. Including men and boys helped broaden the conversation, showing the importance of shared understanding in supporting lasting change.
